APA Event Health and Safety Policies

(Revised January 3, 2023) The American Payroll Association considers the safety of all those onsite at our in-person events as our top priority. As such, we have updated our health and safety policies for all of our in-person events. These policies may be adjusted in accordance with new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or any restrictions implemented by federal, state, or local governments.

Effective January 3, 2023, APA no longer requires attendees, staff, speakers, or exhibitors to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative test results for admittance to in-person programs.

APA encourages all those who attend its programs to follow COVID-19 Prevention Actions. For those travelling long distances, APA suggests taking a COVID-19 test before departure.

What to Expect at APA In-person Events

  • Wearing masks – APA encourages attendees to wear masks at in-person events, but masks are not required (except in cases of recent close contact with a person who has tested positive for or is suspected of having COVID-19). If a federal, state, or local, government institutes a mask requirement in a location where an APA event is being held, all attendees will be required to comply with the mask requirement.

Personal Accountability Commitment
By attending an APA in-person event, you acknowledge that the following statements are true as of the day of the event.

  1. You have not tested positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of the event.
  2. You are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
  3. If you have had close contact with someone who you suspect has COVID-19 (exhibits symptoms) or who tests positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of the event, you agree to wear a mask. CDC guidelines suggest testing 6 days after the contact. Even if you test negative, you must wear a mask for the duration of 10 days, which may or may not cover the course of the event.

Our general Event Policies also include an Attendee Liability and Waiver of Claims section with a provision specifically addressing COVID-19. By attending an APA in-person event, you also agree to these policies.
