The Secret to Gross-up Calculations
Webinar 1: September 12 or 15

The IRC, state and local governments require employers to withhold taxes from wages. When the employer pays the employee's taxes, it is called a gross-up. It is the employer's decision whether to withhold or gross-up the taxes on any amount attributable to the employee. There is a general gross-up formula which usually works, but other factors may require the formula be modified. These calculations don't have to be messy and gross; they are just basic high school math.

Generational Differences
Webinar 2: September 19 or 22

With four generations in the workplace and a fifth entering the workforce in 2020, leaders need to understand the differences between the generations and determine how to ensure they can work well together. In this session, we will discuss the communication styles, work characteristics, team dynamics, and how each generation views feedback and rewards. You will learn how the generations can work together in teams and the part each "generally likes to play" on a team.

Paying and Reporting Wages After an Employee Dies
Webinar 3: September 26 or 29

We will walk through several scenarios we commonly face when payments are due after an employee dies. When the unfortunate situation occurs, are you aware of the rules to follow in order to properly issue pay and report the final wages? Discover who we're to issue the payments to and how to report the wages paid after the employee's death on Forms W-2 and 1099-MISC.

Understanding Emotional Intelligence
Webinar 4: October 3 or 6

What is Emotional Intelligence and why should I care? This session describes the four major skills that make up Emotional Intelligence, and illustrates how they affect the way we manage our behavior, navigate social complexities, and make decisions. Leaders who have honed their emotional intelligence and who lead their teams with a professional awareness of both intellectual and emotional intelligence have been proven to be "best in breed" leaders.

The Regular Rate of Pay: Payroll's Biggest Secret
Webinar 5: October 24 or 27

The FLSA requires that nonexempt employees must be paid an hourly rate of one and one-half times the employee's regular rate of pay for all time physically worked over 40 hours in a workweek. Sounds easy. Why was the Department of Labor able to collect in fiscal year 2015 nearly $138 million in back overtime from employers not paying their employee's overtime according to this law? We'll reveal the answer to payroll's biggest secret so your employer is not one of them.

Each webinar is streamed to the user at a specific time over the Internet. During the live webinar, attendees can participate in polling and ask questions. After the live presentation, the program will be available as a Webinar On Demand.
