BY: Jyme Mariani, Esq. | 01/20/23

In January, the U.S. Census Bureau will begin mailing invitations to businesses to complete the 2022 Economic Census. The Economic Census, which measures American business and the economy, is taken every five years. Responses are required by law and are due by March 15.

Changes to the Census

The Census Bureau said it has incorporated many changes into the 2022 Economic Census “that mirror the ever-changing U.S. economy, communities, and data user needs.” These changes include using email reminders and updating questions to reflect the changing economy.

On March 20-21, APA will hold its annual Capital Summit at the Hilton Arlington National Landing Hotel in Arlington, Va. This conference, sponsored by HR Logics, provides payroll professionals the opportunity to get the latest compliance news directly from influential decision-makers and federal officials.

This year, Charles F. Brady Jr., Branch Chief of the Respondent Outreach and Promotion Branch, Economic Management Division, and Kari L. Klinedinst, Survey Statistician, Economic Management Division, will discuss how the Census Bureau collects and analyzes data that can be used by payroll professionals and their employers.
