APA Is Moving Congress Business Forward

Business happens in person. And Payroll Congress happens in May. The APA is moving forward confidently, with safety a priority. Make sure you don’t get left behind.

Registration is underway for the APA’s 40th Payroll Congress, which takes place May 10-13, 2022, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Of course, you may be wondering if the upcoming Payroll Congress will be an in-person event, whether it’s beneficial to register, or even safe to meet in person. The answer to all these questions is a resounding, and absolute, yes!

It’s been nearly two years since the coronavirus started to impact the United States in March 2020, forcing local government entities to prohibit public meetings and gatherings in their efforts to curb the spread of the virus.

But a lot has happened since the early days of the pandemic. Vaccines have been developed and individuals have learned how to practice social distancing. Governments and businesses that closed, out of an abundance of caution, have long since reopened and are now better educated on new and effective ways to stay safe.

In fact, APA members safely attended several in-person events in Las Vegas this year. In September, Dan Dycus, CPP, APA’s Senior Director of Education Services, manned the APA booth at the SHRM Annual Conference and Expo. In October, APA Executive Director Dan Maddux, APA Chief Operations Officer Tammy Trascher, and APA Human Resources Director Liza Fawcett attended the Ceridian World Tour-HR Conference at the MGM Grand Hotel, and in November, Dycus and Steve Hodgson, CPP, APA’s Director of Learning and Development, presented workshops at UCG Works at ARIA Resort & Casino.

Venues such as the Las Vegas Convention Center, Paris Las Vegas, Caesar’s Palace, Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, and Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Resort, and Casino have all been booked through the latter part of 2021 for conventions and trade shows. In October, these Las Vegas venues hosted the American Dental Association, the National Hardware Show, the NBAA Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition, and the American Rental Association.

Las Vegas venues will host other trade shows and conventions through the remainder of the year, and on January 5, the Consumer Technology Association will host the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) at the Las Vegas Convention Center to kick off the 2022 convention season.

“Las Vegas is where more business travelers want to go. Where more business gets done,” states the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority website.

The APA welcomes you back to the business of payroll! Be a part of the 40th Payroll Congress May 10-13, 2022, in Las Vegas by registering on the APA website.
