Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave Notice Deadline Extended

The Massachusetts Department of Family and Medical Leave has released the paid family and medical leave mandatory employee notice requirements and workplace poster. The deadline to provide notice to employees has been extended to June 30, 2019, from May 31, 2019.

The deadline to file for a private plan exemption for first quarter contributions has been extended to September 20, 2019, from June 30, 2019, for those employers that already provide a paid leave benefit to their workforce. Applications for exemption from the medical leave contribution, family leave contribution, or both can be submitted via MassTaxConnect.
