Payroll 201 provides intensive, advanced, hands-on training on complex payroll functions and regulations. Issues such as how the payroll function impacts the accounting, benefits, and human resources departments are discussed, as well as the more complicated legal issues like benefits taxation, third-party sick pay reporting, and involuntary deductions. Payroll 201 offers proven practices for managing a cost-effective payroll department and practical experience that can be immediately applied on the job.

As a participant, you will receive the Payroll Source.

Classes taught at APA's Payroll Learning Center in San Antonio and at MEET Las Vegas.

Who Should Attend
Payroll professionals who have mastered the fundamentals of payroll administration and wish to improve job performance. Payroll 201 is a proven study tool for eligible candidates preparing for the CPP exam.

Tuesday through Thursday:

Payroll 201 and the CPP Exam

The American Payroll Association is excited to announce that class attendees at all sessions of Payroll 201: Payroll Administration Certificate Program at APA's Learning Centers in Las Vegas and San Antonio will have the opportunity to take their CPP: Certified Payroll Professional certification exam on Friday afternoon at the end of each course.

Please note: Advanced registration is required. The course registration fee does not include the certification exam fee.

Successful candidates often spend 3 to 6 months preparing for the exam. Payroll 201 is a great way to support your study efforts, but the course is not intended to be the only resource. Please refer to the CPP Examination Candidate Handbook for more information.

Recertification Credit Hours
Earn 29 Recertification Credit Hours (RCHs) 2.9 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or 34 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits when attending this course. Delivery Method: Group-Live, No advance preparation required, Level: Overview,  Fields of Study: Taxes = 22.0, Business Law = 12.0
ACE Credits

Attendees that successfully complete this course and score 80% or higher on the post test can earn up to 4.0 ACE credits.
