Whirlpool, Payroll Supervisor, Benton Harbor, MI

Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Payroll Compliance Supervisor opening to join our Payroll team. This position will supervise daily operations to achieve multistate payroll tax, garnishment, and GL reconciliation compliance for biweekly/monthly Whirlpool U.S. payrolls by using the SAP system. The position will also supervise a team of compliance specialists to ensure timely reporting of tax, garnishments, and payroll GL account reconciliation; provide guidance to the payroll department on compliance related activities and complex payroll research/resolution; and lead tax and compliance related testing for SAP updates as needed. The ideal candidate will also oversee compliance with US federal, state, and local payroll tax, unemployment, disability insurance regulations and requirements by supervising the balancing of payroll taxes and making all regulatory deposits and filings. Additionally, the candidate will ensure preparation of all required quarterly and annual returns including the preparation and dispatch of W-2s, W-2cs, 941s, 940s, and State and Local Reconciliations; make all tax returns and deposits via Empower; oversee research and response to tax inquiries as needed; manage tax vendor Empower; oversee processing of employee garnishments including child support, tax levies, student loans, bankruptcies, creditor garnishments, and lump sum payment orders; and ensure the timely setup of garnishment orders, notification to applicable parties (employees and/or agencies), and timely remittance of payment.
