Marathon Petroleum Company LP's Blanchard Refining Division has an opening for a Payroll Processor within the HR department. This position is located in Texas City, Texas. This position reports to the Organizational Effectiveness & Payroll Manager and will provide payroll support services to hourly employees at the refinery. The successful candidate will process payroll for hourly employees, which includes work time, vacation time, sick time, swaps, paid and unpaid absences, overtime reports, and temporary foreman reports. S/he will also ensure employees are compensated based on company pay practices and procedures, as well as the union contract; answer questions regarding payroll, paychecks, or time reporting for hourly employees; record and maintain employee absence records on all hourly employees which include: vacation, sick leave, and paid or unpaid absences; track hourly employee progressions and notify HR Administrative Assistants when employees are due for progression; answer questions regarding exempt and nonexempt time reporting; ensure payroll practices are in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws as well as company procedures; train hourly employees and/or supervisors on how to input their time entry; participate in internal and SOX audits and address any findings; and serve as a backup to the other Payroll Specialist as well as provide assistance and support to other HR Administrative Staff as needed. This position is required to work holidays if payroll closeouts are on a company-recognized holiday.

Sereniti Group, Senior Accountant, Dublin, VA

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant who will serve as the team lead in a fast-paced packaging manufacturing environment. The person in this role will serve as the subject matter expert on policies and procedures pertaining to the end-to-end accounting cycle. Job duties include preparing and posting monthly adjustment entries for all payroll items including garnishments, taxes, vacations, variable compensation, and direct deposits; maintaining general ledger entries for receivables and payables; reconciliation of the payroll bank account supervising the accuracy of withdrawals; reviewing and documenting all prepaid assets; assisting in financial and operational audits; participating in the creation and control of the plant budget; reviewing monthly U.S. Customs charges; monthly reconciliation and variance analysis of the general ledger; reviewing, maintaining, and securing all Enterprise Zone Grants from the State of Virginia and any other source; serving as a team leader for the local accounting team; and providing support to the management team with financial analysis, account investigations, and other special requests.

County of San Mateo, Internal Auditor II, San Mateo, CA

The Internal Audit Division of the Controller's Office of San Mateo County is seeking highly-qualified candidates for the position of Internal Auditor II. The Internal Auditor II is the advanced, professional level class in this professional auditing series. Incumbents in this position will have an opportunity to apply for future Senior Internal Auditor positions that become available. Incumbents are expected to perform internal control and compliance audits of county departments/agencies and programs; develop practical recommendations to improve internal controls within county departments/agencies, and obtain management's buy-in to implement the recommendations; undertake special projects as required; independently perform the full range of auditing duties; possess a thorough knowledge of accounting and auditing procedures; and exercise sound judgment within established guidelines.
