APA Local Chapters

APA has more than 130 affiliated local chapters located across the nation. Each chapter operates autonomously within the APA National Policy Guidelines and assumes their non-profit status. This means each individual chapter operates independently and does not have a direct financial relationship with APA National. Both chapters and the national organization share and support the same goals, which include the most important goal of education within the payroll profession.

Local chapters work in conjunction with APA National to provide outstanding networking, education opportunities, and professional development resources through chapter meetings, study groups, statewide/regional conferences, and community outreach. Affiliated chapters support APA's mission and encourage national membership and participation, while promoting educational growth and unity in their profession to their local communities.

NEW Chapter Leaders Blog

The Chapter Leaders Blog is used by chapter officers to continue the networking that was started at the Chapter Leadership Summit. APA, Board of Advisors and chapter leaders will post the latest chapter news and guidance to help others organize successful chapters. Chapter members can subscribe to the blog to interact with fellow chapter members and get answers to tough chapter challenges by using the hashtag #APAChapters. Subscribe to the blog today to get an instant, or monthly, notifications once a new post has been added.

APA President's Board of Advisors

APA has divided the nation into nine separate regions. Each Board of Advisor (BOA) is assigned to one region for a two year term. During their term, BOAs serve as the chapter's voice to APA's Board of Directors and APA National. They make recommendations based on their chapters' input to enhance the relationship between APA National and local chapters. Each BOA is available to offer support and mentoring to chapters within their region. To contact your region's Board of Advisor, please utilize the Chapter Finder Regional Map.

APA Chapter Affiliation Process

The Application for Chapter Affiliation and Re-Affiliation are documents used by all chapters to affiliate/re-affiliate their chapter with APA. The document must be submitted to the Chapter Relations Department once a year. The Applications are located in the Local Chapter Guide.
